Following concerns over the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Lagos State health officials have intensified surveillance at Murtala Muhammed Airport. A joint inspection was conducted to evaluate the airport's readiness to detect and respond to potential Ebola threats.

Key figures from health and aviation sectors participated in the inspection, including the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Akinola Abayomi, and FAAN's Aviation Medical General Manager, Ibrahim Bilikisu. The inspection aimed to reinforce preventive measures and ensure the airport's preparedness.

Mr. Abayomi praised FAAN and other stakeholders for their rapid response and existing preventive measures. He emphasized the importance of increased vigilance, particularly in monitoring passengers from high-risk countries, to quickly identify and isolate any potential cases.
